Its time for another drool-worthy gadget on my wish-list.
This time its a kitchen gadget that makes fish and chips slightly more healthy than dropping a potato into a greasy bucket of oil.
The end of the greasy chip maybe?
I know one of the attractions of fish and chips is their greasiness, but I’ve never really been a fan of squeezing a piece of deep-fried potato only for a spoonful of grease to drip off onto the plate.
Tefal introduced the Actifry fairly recently and uses a minimal amount of oil to re-create the crispiness of deep-fried food.
I have no idea if it works, but the reviews on Amazon seem fairly good. But I’d love to start eating chips that are slightly more healthy. I really don’t like oven chips and if these are meant to taste like the ‘real thing’ then I’m all for it.
The only downsides? The cost seems slightly too high for essentially what is a chip fryer, and the size – it looks huge! I already have loads of gadgets on my kitchen top so I’d really have to try to find some space for it. But if the taste is worth the sacrifice, then space i’ll find.
Does anyone have an Actifry? Is it all its cracked up to be?
